Troy Fabiano | Coach
Troy Fabiano
Head coach Troy Fabiano is in his 12th season of overseeing the women’s soccer program at UW-Parkside. In 2003, 2004 and 2008, Fabiano was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year, an award richly deserved after guiding his team to conference championships and NCAA tournament bids in each of those seasons. In 2004, the team won its first NCAA post-season game and in 2008, the Ranger women’s soccer team won its initial regional championship.

In the last seven seasons, Fabiano's team has posted a stellar 111-27-3 record which translates to an outstanding .795 winning percentage.
The Ranger mentor produced UWP’s first All-American in women’s soccer five seasons ago in defender Stafanie Strauss and followed up with another All-American selection, Lisa Gorski, four seasons ago. In 2008, the All-Americans doubled with awards bestowed upon Meredith Novak and Lauki’i Cheng.

In 2008, the Rangers posted an undefeated regular season, the first in school history. The team went on to log an 18-1-1 record, which is its best ever. In that landmark season, UW-Parkside scored all four of the GLVC’s major individual awards including Coach of the Year; Offensive Player of the Year (Novak); Defensive Player of the Year (Cheng) and Newcomer of the Year (Shannon Becker). The 2008 club finished with a national ranking of No. 6 in the land.
Fabiano’s only losing season was his first when he inherited a depleted squad of just 13 players. Once he was able to get his own recruiting classes in, the Rangers have enjoyed ten consecutive winning seasons and have established themselves on the national women's soccer map.

The Ranger mentor began his coaching career as a men’s assistant at his alma matter, Robert Morris. Fabiano then went on to become the interim head men’s coach at NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois, before returning to his hometown of Kenosha to take the assistant position with the women’s program in 1996. After a one season, Fabiano advanced to head coach. He led the Rangers to the GLVC’s Final Four in 2000 and to the league championship game in 2001 prior to winning it all for the first time in 2003.

Fabiano’s players are successful off the field as well with a team grade point average of over 3.0. Nine players earned a spot on the GLVC’s all-academic team.

The coach had a superlative playing career before going on to be a highly successful coach.
Fabiano played locally at Kenosha Bradford High School. He earned a scholarship to play soccer at Robert Morris College, an NCAA Division I school in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.

While at Robert Morris, Fabiano was member of the All-Northeast Conference first team all four years. He was the Northeast Conference Player of the Year and was 9th in the nation in scoring in his senior season.

Fabiano’s sparkling soccer skills were employed in the professional ranks after his term at Robert Morris. He played two seasons with the Pittsburgh Stingers of the CISL; one season with perennial power Milwaukee Wave of the NPSL; and one season with the Milwaukee Rampage of the USISL.

Fabiano currently holds United States Soccer Federation "A" License and an Advanced National Diploma from NSCAA.

Vlatko Minic | Coach
Vlatko Minic
Vlatko Minic was an assistant coach for four seasons at UW-Parkside. He helped guide the program to a 40-7-7 record, as well as two Conference Championships and two NCAA appearances.

Before his coaching career, Minic played locally at Mary D. Bradford High School, where he earned three First Team All-Conference nominations. He went on to earn a scholarship at UW-Madison. Minic was part of the building block that saw the Badgers win the National Championship in '95.

He has 15 years of coaching experience with kids from ages 5 to 17. "I'm extremely proud of our U-14 group. They have set the standard for the kids that will come through our program."

Stef Strauss-Thompkins | Coach
Stef Strauss-Thompkins
Stefanie Strauss-Thompkins (Racine, WI/Horlick) was an NCAA Division II first team All-American at UW-Parkside, becoming the first All-American in Ranger women’s soccer history. She earned the award in 2005, her senior season. Strauss has a pair of all-conference awards as well, along with two all-region awards to her credit.

Strauss was part of a senior class which posted a four-year record of 58-9-8, back-to-back Great Lakes Valley Conference championships and a pair of NCAA post-season bids. The defender spearheaded a Ranger squad that logged the lowest goals against average in the country in 2005 at 0.30.

Strauss excelled in the classroom as well as the field. She was the winner of the Richard F. Scharf Paragon Award, which is the GLVC’s highest award, honoring academic and athletic excellence. In 2004, Strauss was named the league’s Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Stefanie will enter her third year as assistant coach for the UW-Parkside Rangers.

Stef holds her "national diploma" coaching license with the NSCAA.

Ezekiel Thompkins | Goalkeeper Coach
Ezekiel Thompkins
Ezekiel "Zeke" Thompkins played collegiate soccer for one year at Lakeland College and for two years at Oral Roberts University where he starred at the goalkeeper position. He was named 1st Team All-County as a senior in high school and was a Scholar-Athlete in college.

Zeke has a wide variety of soccer coaching experience. He has coached at the youth level (ages 6-14) for after-school programs, inner-city programs, recreational, and club soccer programs. He has also coached at the high school and college level.

Zeke holds his Regional and National NSCAA Goalkeeping Certifications.

Sam Sosnay | Coach
Samantha Sosnay is in her seventh season as an assistant coach with the Rangers after a stellar playing career. As a player, Sosnay is etched in the UW-Parkside record book. She is third in career assists (23) and holds the record for the most assists in one game (4). She is ranked fifth (12) and sixth (11) for most assists in one season. Sosnay was tabbed all-conference as a senior and was picked as the team captain in both her junior and senior seasons.

"Sam has been a huge asset to the program and is a big reason for its success,” explained head coach Troy Fabiano. “Her player management and relationships with the players has been outstanding.”

In Sosnay’s tenure as assistant coach, the Rangers have logged an 84-23-13 record with three Great Lakes Valley Conference championships and a hat trick of NCAA tournament appearances, including one regional title.

“Tactically, she understands the game well and is able to get her points across,” added Fabiano. “ I’ve seen her grow as a coach. She adds so much on every level.”

The veteran assistant coach holds a national ‘D’ coaching license. She has coached the U-9 and U-10 Red Star club teams and is coaching the U-11 squad this fall.

Sosnay holds an undergraduate degree from UW-Parkside and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from UW-Milwaukee.

Philippe Pierre-Louis | Coach
Philippe Pierre-Louis was born in Montpellier, France, where he began playing soccer at the age of five. In addition to playing for a regular club team, in 1981 Philippe was selected to play for the equivalent of a US “state team." During this time, he was among the top 36 players who were selected for the U14 and U16 French National Squad. He competed mostly in the highest amateur division in France as well as the United States. Philippe has had the opportunity to play against many professional teams in Europe, which includes tournaments held in Italy, Germany, and France.

Philippe played collegiate soccer at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Philippe has 14 years of soccer coaching experience in the United States along with two years of experience in France. He holds his Wisconsin Coaching "D" License certified by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association.
